ACT National All Styles held its regional championships on the 28th August being the first being held in ACT for a number of years
Whilst we’re not as big as the more established circuits of the NAS such as N.S.W, QLD or VIC, there were Martial Arts Clubs from right across Canberra with multiple styles of Karate, Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do and Hapkido. Not to mention that there were many Instructors that dropped by to see what the NAS was all about.
They witnessed a great day with hotly contested divisions of Point Sparring, Forms, Weapons forms, but the most popular division on the day was the Continuous Sparring! Every division in it was full and every competitor from the under 7’s to the Veteran’s gave it their all and left nothing in the tank as they went after the State title. Everyone that witnessed it left impressed, and let me know that they can’t wait for the next one!
The crowd was awesome, really getting behind the competitors cheering them on the whole way and creating an exciting atmosphere. Thank you to all of you who gave up your weekend to support the competitors.
The end message was simple - the NAS is back in the A.C.T and we look forward to seeing everyone 2017 …. It is going to be a great year of competition in A.C.T!
A big thank to all the helpers and Officials that gave up their weekend for the competitors. Without your help we couldn’t have done it.
One last thank you to Mr James Casey and Mrs Virginia Casey that travelled down all the way from Queensland to train the officials and help me in areas I didn’t even know about!
Mr Glen Gibbons
A.C.T NAS Director.
