Achievements:

Mr Ian Pape has been involved in the NAS for 16 years, both as a competitor and a judge. He has been an active competitor over those years, so is able to see refereeing and judging from “both sides of the fence”. Some of his achievements are:

  • NAS National Championship finalist (fighting)
  • NAS State Champion, veterans (fighting)
  • WASO Champion, team member WASO vs Other Countries
  • NAS – Level 4 Referee
  • NAS – QLD Technical Director
  • NAS National Trainer

Background:

Sensei Aussie (Ian) has been involved with martial arts for the past 35 years.

In 2003 he became a student of Shihan James Casey, Chairman of KenshinKan International Karate. KenshinKan International Karate was derived from Kyokushin Karate.

A dedicated student, Aussie trained 3 days a week for 4 years, obtaining his Sho-dan in 2007, Ni-dan in 2009 and San-dan in 2011. Yon-Dan in 2015

Aussie works very closely with Shihan Casey, running a full time dojo at Forest Lake 2 days a week and he continues to travel to the Gold Coast once a week to train at Honbu, Burleigh Heads RSL.
